Why I Love This Book

The Pout-Pout Fish tells the story of a fish who thinks he has to be grumpy because his mouth turns down in a pout.  It has all the stuff kids love including humor, chants and rhyming words.  It's one of those books that's just fun to read out loud.

On a more serious side, this book deals with big feelings.  If you have a child that leans a little towards the negative side of things at times, this is a great book for teaching and learning. It can serve as a humorous, but resourceful reference for helping toddler and preschool-aged emotional children with big feelings.

BTW there are now multiple books in the Pout Pout family.

"Children are made readers on the laps of their parents." — Emilie Buchwald
My favorite part of each guide has to be the comprehension questions. We read together all the time, but  I never know what questions to ask. These guides have the basic questions, but also, deeper thought provoking questions that really get my kids  thinking!     Andrea Lubitz - Charlotte, NC
