Why I Love This Book

Why do I love this book?
It's just fun!
It's also silly and sassy and colorful.

Chicka Chicka Boom Boom was groundbreaking when it was first published back in 1989. No one had ever seen a book like this one before then. Much of what made this book special were the bright minimalist illustrations by Caldecott Award winning illustrator Lois Ehlert.

It's a fun book to read and a great way to learn or review the  letters of the alphabet. Years ago there was an audio version of this book read by none other than Ray Charles.  I couldn't find it for you to purchase, but I did locate this YouTube link. enjoy!

"Children are made readers on the laps of their parents." — Emilie Buchwald
My favorite part of each guide has to be the comprehension questions. We read together all the time, but  I never know what questions to ask. These guides have the basic questions, but also, deeper thought provoking questions that really get my kids  thinking!     Andrea Lubitz - Charlotte, NC
