Why I Love This BookA I add titles to this site, I want to try and incorporate all races, all religions, all orientations, all beliefs, and as many places as I possibly can. At 2 a month, it may take a while. Always feel free to make a specific request and I will begin working on it immediately.
I freely admit that Judaism is not the religion I practice, but I'm about to have a Jewish daughter in-law and I am determined to educate myself over these next few months. This book was a great start to my education. I learned about the yiddish term Bubba, and how it's pronounced. I learned the reason behind eating a food fried in oil, in this story, it was latkes. I'm eager to try latkes and I believe that I want sour cream on mine, but I might try a little jam on one as well. A friend also told me that they are sometimes served with applesauce as well. The biggest lesson children should take away from this book is a lesson of kindness and respect. Bubba could have become frustrated with Bear, but at each turn she was kind and respectful Themes
